“State of Emergency” is a fashion editorial about times of change. The editorial focuses on bright and contrasting elements, such as putting reds next to blues, solids with opaques, and glossy with matte.
The story is a journey of the hero going through times of transition, with the mood being serious, anxious, but a light of hope. I focused on using colour as a means of carrying the story through, bringing in elements of blue in different forms. In one scene, there are blue walls, and in another scene, there is blue lighting. I wanted the shoot to be athletically inspired, so our model was selected with his background in fitness, and many of the pieces are made in performance and technical fabrics to allow for motion and movement.
